Common Beginner Questions

How often is data updated?

Real-time! Our infrastructure delivers updates with <100ms latency. Basic and Pro plans get priority refresh rates.

What counts as a “large transaction”?

This varies by market conditions, but generally:

  • Small: $10k - $50k
  • Medium: $50k - $250k
  • Large: $250k - $1M
  • Pro: $1M+

You can customize these thresholds in settings.

Can I track my own address?

Absolutely! Many users track their own wallets to:

  • Monitor portfolio performance
  • Get alerts on their own positions
  • Compare against top traders
  • Track historical metrics

How do I avoid alert fatigue?

Start conservative:

  1. Track fewer addresses initially (3-5)
  2. Set higher thresholds
  3. Use email for less urgent alerts
  4. Reserve push notifications for whales only
  5. Review and adjust weekly

What if I see suspicious activity?

Hypermetrics is a read-only analytics tool. We display on-chain data but don’t interact with the blockchain. If you notice concerning patterns:

  • Use it to inform your own decisions
  • Share insights with the community (if you’re comfortable)
  • Remember: past performance ≠ future results
